This little-used southwest Georgia site is near the southernmost covered bridge in the United States. Coheelee Creek is a seemingly forgotten backwater in southwest Georgia, flowing into the Chattahoochee River near the hamlet of Hilton. The Chattahoochee, Georgia's most significant river, is dammed as lake George F. Andrews at this point, and forms the state border with Alabama. But looking out from Coheelee Creek Campground, you'd never know that the 'Hooch is a lake at this juncture and George W. Andrews Lock and Dam is just a few miles away. Here it is still a relatively narrow river, yet a look at the campground boat ramp reveals a small embayment backing up a short portion of Coheelee Creek, confirming the presence of a dam downstream.
