Hiking Waterfalls in Tennessee

Take a hike to the namesake cataract of Tennessee’s most popular state park. Truly a gem of the Volunteer State, Fall Creek Falls, the plateau’s highest tumbler, drops 256 feet over a stone precipice into a rock-rimmed catch basin.

First, enjoy an allaccess view with lots of others, then take the Base of Falls Trail through a geological wonderland of cliffs, boulder gardens and rock formations en route to a bottom-up perspective of this cataract. In wetter times, you will also view 250-foot Coon Creek Falls, which drops into the same pool.

This trail features an incredible drop into a deep gorge. At the bottom, awaits Falls Creek Falls, which drops into a beautiful pool. The trail is short but tough. Very rocky. Wear a good pair of hiking boots if you have them, although many people do it in tennis shoes. I feel sorry for those who wore sandals. My five year old managed this hike with a little hand holding. The bottom of the falls is incredible and worth the hike!

This is a very nice hike to the bottom of an awesome waterfall. This hike goes straight down all the way so be prepared to do some deep breathing on the way back up. There is a small pool at the bottom of the falls that you can cool your feet off in. The water that is flowing from the falls must be high in iron because the creek bottom is stained orange. If you are in the area you should check this trail out.

Very nice trail but crowded at times during warmer weather.

The whole family enjoyed this trip down to the base of the falls. There were a couple of rocks in the trail that are worn and slippery. Real nice trail that cuts a bit under the cliff face. Cool in the shade while we had lunch at the bottom pool. We were fine after putting on the rain gear.

This by far is one of they best trails ive been on. The trail is nice and each step brings you closer to the beautiful view of 3 falls close to gether with a several hundred foot drop into a stream. Spectacular
